Javanese Performing Arts Enrichment Project officially starts!

The Gema Rasa Foundation (SGR) project working group recently held an online meeting with its partners from the Vokatie School Department of English, Arts and Cultural Management (SV DBSMB), the Minomartani Cultural Center (BBM) and the Sajiwa Dance Group. During this first meeting, people were able to get to know each other and discuss the plans for the SGR cultural education trip to Indonesia, scheduled from July 21 to 31, 2024.

In Yogyakarta, SGR, SV DBSMB, BBM and Sajiwa will give workshops and will jointly host a Javanese performing arts event for guests and local residents at BBM on July 27, 2024, which will also be streamed live. We eagerly look forward to this collaboration, with the aim of exploring and celebrating the richness of the Javanese performing arts, as they developed in Indonesia, Suriname and the Netherlands, and to show this cultural richness to the world.
